Nicely aged upstate NY red that was not too tanic

Excellent red from Finger Lakes. A little smoky, fruity, and not tanic. A bit of subtle soil and rubber garden hose.

Red wine from this region is hit or miss and I thought this was in between. It didn't need decanting and showed hints of berry and spice.

Nose: spicy, slightly acidic, dirty, little musky,

Taste: smooth, highly drinkable, bit muddy, warm aftertaste

This one has aged well. Lighter in color, almost ruby. Softer tannins then I remember from the first taste years ago, yet plenty of fruit and a elegant oak/vanilla finish.
