Lake Nelson had too many sand flies so had to jaunt down the road for 10 minutes to this river campsite. Was only $5 bucks per person for the site. This wine helped heal the wounds of the flies. Dense, killer weight, a touch waxy and plenty oaky. Killer views from their tasting room too.

Beautifully framed smell of almond oil, marzipan, lemon oil, pineapple skin & sandalwood, very refined. This follows on the palate which is well rounded with uplifting acidity generous, rich, apple fruit, long mineral finish.

2012: lovely fragrant nose, white flowers, mineral, quite ripe peach and a hint of tropical. Vanilla. Lovely balance of acidity, mineral, leesy texture, creamy but still lively. Lightly oaky on the finish, hint of buttered toast. A superb wine that beat Burgundy, California and South Africa on our Grape Debate evening on Chardonnay (sub £20 - but also beat others above £20)

very PM in style, lovely minerality, white flowers, lovely. Peach, great texture and more lifted acid. Nervy, vibrant, be one for the long haul. Gorgeous. will go somewhere in 4-5 years due to the screwcap.
