Old Coach Road is a label from Nelson’s Seifried Estate - one of the South Island’s pioneering wine producers in 1973. The Old Coach Road range are made as easy-drinking wines that are very food friendly. This 2015 Pinot Gris (approx $13) we enjoyed with some good old NZ fish’n’chips!
This wine is made up from various parcels of Pinot Gris grapes from different vineyards.
It’s a sunny yellow colour in the glass with enticing fresh pear and apple notes on the nose. There’s also a hint of minerality and baking spice in there. In the mouth it’s juicy and a bit herby with fresh apples and lemons dominating for me. A lovely silky texture and flavoursome finish. A wine that definitely slipped down with ease!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes
