Segal's
Galilee Cabernet Sauvignon
Segal Merom Galil Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Israel
Dark ruby in color with a purplish / red rim.
Light on the nose with sour cherries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, plums, oak, vanilla, bitter almonds, licorice and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with high acidity.
Tart on the palate and dry, with sour cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, oak, cloves, licorice, cedar, spices and peppercorn.
Medium+ on the finish with fine-grained tannins and black pepper.
This is a nice Cabernet Sauvignon from northern Israel. Good everyday wine but not complex or special in any way. Better with food. Unbalanced and probably peaked last year. Not enough fruits for the acidity anymore.
Too sour and bitter for my taste.
Aged in new French oak and American oak barrels. I paired it with a plate of Israeli hard cheeses.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
