Uncommon blend of 52pct Merlot, 29 pct Zinfandel, with petit Verdot and Petit Sirah. Oak treatment, vanilla, Cinnamon, ripe, dark fruit, and -----is that root beer? One of the most aromatic wines I've tasted recently.
Initial red cherry and plum nose was followed by dark chocolate, fig, and black pepper. Quite fruity on the palate as well with sweet almost syrupy undertone. Soft tannins. A bit dusty and minty too. 51% Merlot 29% Zinfandel 15% Petit Verdot and 5% Petite Sirah. Not bad at all.
