Barrel tasting of 2018 vintage; deep ruby with magenta hues; medium plus intensity aromas of ripe black fruit, blackberry, black plum, plum jam, dried blackberry, intense vanilla; dry, medium acid, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, full body, pronounced intensity flavors consistent with aromas; long finish, a very intensely flavored and concentrated wine, balanced structure; this winery loves to make BIG wines

Seahorse Winery Take Two Zinfandel Petite Syrah 2014
Judea Hills, Israel

Dark ruby in color with a red rim.

Tart on the nose with cherry juice, strawberries, vanilla, oak, licorice and yeast?

Fruity and bone dry on the palate with cherries, metals, earth and black pepper.

Medium-bodied with high acidity.

Long finish with soft tannins and black pepper.

Drinking nicely now, but needs an additional 2 years in the bottle. I had the opportunity to have it directly from the barrel, so no bottle aging yet.

A blend of 80% Zinfandel and 20% Petite Sirah, all organic grapes.
Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels (which is unique for this wine region).

14.5% alcohol by volume.
