Pirosmani

Dark red purple. Big bosomy nose of black raspberry and purple flowers. Echoed on the palate with a hint of herbiness. Medium full body. Medium plus acidity balances the slight bit of sweetness well. Medium plus tannins keep it “serious.” Pasta with spicy chili is a good match. Georgian fare, too, of course.

Цвет рубиновый, полный. Аромат сдержанный, сухих черных ягод, сухое молоко, слива, чернослив. Вкус достаточно полный, слива, черноплодная рябина, просто, чисто. Танины плотные, сухие. Послевкусие продолжительное. 15/20 (84/100)

First experience with Georgian wine. (I think). Wish it were a bit more full bodied. But I have nothing to base this on. Fun to try, easy to sip.

Huge tannins. Dry. Dry leaves. A bit too simple to be loved but likable and great day to day.

An amazing Saperavi from the Republic if Georgia. This wine was fermented in Qvevri ( giant clay amphorae) and is simply #delicious!

Went to a Georgian/Tunisian wine tasting and this $13 bottle was by far my favorite. My friend bought a bottle and we drank it chilled as a sangria with blueberries strawberries and plums - yum!

Nice fruit, medium body. Easy drinking red.

Perceptible residual sugar. Light body, light tannins. Not too memorable.
