5 hour decant and it barely made a dent. The rich decadent fruit is way up front and dominates the overall profile. There is present acidity and a well structured tannic profile that helped this cut through a steak. While Saxum always maintains balance even with rich fruit and high alcohol levels I think they show best when allowed to mellow for a decade, this is no exception as I believe it will improve significantly.

You know it is going to be good when the label has a big ol dip on it. A really amazing wine, especially when so young. Built to drink now.

Great wine, rich and full bodied, paired well with the ribs.

In a good spot. The heat has blown off completely. Bold and striking.

'13. A little bit more tannic than the Booker vnyrd. Can you taste 7% rousanne and tempranillo? Maybe in secondary development in a decade. Easier to see where this one will go long term, still easy to drink now.

Lean,.....but that means it still bigger than most wines. Saxum's are beastly! Cold year produced a wine not up to my standards for Saxum but was happy to consume it anyways. From thawed frozen bottle.
