Just a few pics of the wines from last night’s monthly 4th Friday. Too many bottles to try!
Awesome bottle from @Bryan Kesting . I’m falling hard for Saxum. After having the ‘12 and ‘13 James Berry bottles over the last month, this has less perfumed, sweet and crunchy red fruit but a decidedly darker, smoked bacon fat, black cherry compote and baking spice note. Evolved each time I revisited. Chewy. Espresso, bayleaf, and dark flowers on the palate. Delicious.

Oct 26th, 2019Sweet licorice, tart bramble, crème de cassis, wild herbs. Rich and dense mouthfeel. Medium tannin. Still fairly closed but the door is cracked open. 2 hour decant.

Nov 19th, 2021Coming back to it after it breathes a little, but first taste Wammy! After it opened up just breathing in big raspberry fruits, vanillas and some lighter spice. Chewy almost a spreadable wine! never been let down by Saxum, but this also is not such a bomb it does not linger on your tongue forever it is lighter than that.
