Nectar Grenache Noir
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, sweet strawberries, cherries, oak, licorice, green herbs, vegetables, spices, peppercorn and tobacco. Reminds me of a California Merlot nose.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, vanilla, oak, cloves, tobacco, coffee, chocolates, peppercorn, spices, light vegetables and coke.
Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and spices.
This French Grenache is drinking very nicely now. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing mild complexity, and spicy with a nice mouthfeel.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and remove some of the bitterness.
I had this vintage a few months ago, and now it is much better. Would benefit with an additional year in the bottle.
I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
13% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.
$25.
