Sasso dei Lupi
Umbria Trebbiano
Light golden straw. Golden apple and pear on the nose, with notes of white flower pedals and potpourri, and basically no mineral. More juicy than austere on the palate, but doesn't quite become heavy. Solid M+ acid perfectly carries the apple/pear flavor, sends it towards the tart green/citrus direction at first, then lets the finish swing back aromatically to the sweet pear and golden apple side. That balanced interplay and the pear flavors are my pros; the big con is the lack of minerality. Still very enjoyable, and totally worth the $10. Gets a spot on my list of delicious obscure airy Italian whites--wines I'll never tire of exploring.
