Jun 22nd, 2016Decebt table wine. Better un-aerated for regular drinking, aeration nice for more favors/complex notes. Personally think un-aerated better.
Low-Med body, Med length tail. Low tannin for a red.

I'll be honest--always am--I think it's one of my defining traits. So lemme start over: I'll be myself--this wine wasn't going to be opened this late, but it's cold up here in my quaint Midwestern town and I needed a warm red to sip. I think this one was a little too young to pluck from the stock. It's actually well-structured and quite harmonious with its chorus of berry, and violet, backed up by a singular, distinct note of tobacco. However, the tannins just aren't there--perhaps a bit on the long finish but not enough for my tastes. I got this one for sale at my local shop, so I can't say I'm disappointed. Maybe displeased, but not disappointed. I tend to associate disappointment with somebody else's actions evoking that feeling within me. As for displeasure, that's probably a result of my choosing to open this bottle a few years ahead of time. Some 25 year old may come across this bottle in 2021 and love it. This drink is for that person. L'chaim.
