It’s a Bordeaux-styled blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, 21% Merlot, 16% Malbec, 11% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Personally, I would have flipped the Cabernets, more Franc than Sauvignon, but what do I know? It's not like anybody ever asked me to figure out the final blend for them. And that's probably a good thing.
The Paso Robles Cabernet - Sauvignon, that is - smells earthy as usual. Paso Cab has a great aroma, I think. Full of mineral, limestone and dirt. This one gets an infusion of mocha, chocolate, and sweet smoke. The palate is robust and tasty. Let's mention those tannins right off the bat. They are not to be ignored. The fruit is rather demanding as well, with big, dark berries, as ripe as you want. Herbal notes that sing bring some anise along into the oak spice. The finish doesn't know when to stop, and we can be glad about that.

Ive been waiting to open this one. Big bad and bold. This is San Simeon STORMWATCH from Paso Robles. This is a 2013 estate reserve. If you like Bordeaux - style blends, you will love this one. It is a little tart on the mid palate, but the finish is dry and forgiving to the tartness. Im going to let it decant for another 15 minutes if I can wait that long... .... ... .... ... .... ... .... okay, 15 minutes later. The tart bitterness has developed into a buttery, less tart wine . The nose on this monster is strawberry rhubarb pie. The initial palate is blackberry and raspberry. It has spice and pepper followed by a dry and lip smacking for water slow finish. I will not give it a top rating beyond 9.0 I am disappointed when considering the price at 70 dollars plus shipping!!!!!!!!!!!! Not worth it. The biggest problem I have is its too dry and too tart with no oak nor chocolate . The spice is great, but its drying out my lips. Where is my water????

Soft on the palate with dry tannins early on which abated after decanting, a complex wine with black cherry and vanilla flavours. Mention should also go to the bottle which seems to be made of bullet proof glass and will stand head and shoulders above others
