On its own without decanting I thought it to be a little thing, slightly vinegary, which was surprising because the legs were very long. Definitely tasted the cassis notes. When I paired it with duck it was fantastic. Accentuated the buttery flavour while leaving a smooth finish. I also detect slight notes of pepper. I'd buy again but take more time to let it breathe and be more mindful of pairing it.
