The nose reveals; peach, white peach, apricot, lemon, pineapple, some grapefruit, almost candied lime, marmalade notes, soft chalkiness & minerality with yellow flowers.

The body is thick, waxy and full. There a bit of a sour presence to the fruit. Peach, white peach, apricot, lemon, pineapple, some grapefruit, almost candied lime, marmalade notes, soft chalkiness & minerality with yellow flowers. Round acidity and thick well polished, rich finish.

Photos of; The sloping hillside vines at Rustenberg, Owner/Winemaker Murray Barlow & I talking about his vineyard (my favorite pastime), grounds around Rustenberg and our tasting area.

Pale lemon, the 2021 Rustenberg Stellenbosch Chenin Blanc offers expressive notes of grapefruit, yellow apple, white peach, pastry and some dried grass. Softly textured and moderately rich on entry, the bracing acidity reveals itself on the finish. Bone dry, medium bodied and quite powerful. Drink now

Needs to have good breathing time and not be too cold to be really appreciated. Has some sour notes, and quite citrusy but also quite a thick silky feel. Not sure it’s for me.
