A classical Claret from Stellenbosch, medium-weight with attractive tobacco leaf character complementing its just-ripe black currant. Harmonious blend of 49 Cab, 38 Merlot, 8 Franc, 3 Petit Verdot, 2 Malbec

Black fruits with a hint of stalkiness. Long finish. Could spend another year or two in the bottle.

I am going to give this a rating above most others. I really like this wine. Black cherry, some flint, oak. River stone and leather. A hint of French Bordeaux influence. If u told it it was French in a blind taste test, I would not think ' your lying'. Love what they did 2012.

Prominent bouquet of currant. Sour cherry, currant and clove are all present on the palate, ending with smoky notes. Medium-bodied; the finish is short and a bit thin, which is disappointing. The tannins are still pretty firm, so give this some more time so they can settle down. Smooth and enjoyable but not for everyone. I picked up for $20 at Costco; I wouldn't pay more than that.
