I remember tasting this wine around 20 years ago & I remember exactly what it tasted like. One of the best wines from Napa for the 98 vintage. Rice a Roni should give David Ramey the Jericho Canyon fruit back to make Cabernet. These Rudd & the Ramey Jerichos are top notch. I just read Pepsi now owns Rice a Roni.

Another 4th Friday for the books! What a variety this month!
Compared to some of the other older Napa wines we tasted, I never got any green notes here. Balanced. Tannins are mostly hidden, so Iād start drinking if you have any. Very red and black fruit dominant. Truffled mushrooms, oiled leather and the other secondary notes are getting more pronounced.

This wine is absolutely stunning! These wines made by David Ramey, are the only wines from California that I have tasted at 10+ years old that have no ethyl acetate (shoe polish) aroma or taste at all. This wine is true CA power and finesse! Absolutely perfect. Still with vibrant fruit, fine tannins and a very long finish! Absolutely amazing wine! Could probably go another 5 years but glad we had it now. Balance is just right. Was enjoyed with prime top sirloin.
