Dark purple in the glass with light garnet undertones. Very slight evidence of rust but absolutely nothing to be concerned about. The fruit on the nose is still alive and kicking with mint and dark chocolate. Faded flowers from an old, half forgotten flower. Oak makes an appearance but it’s just to say hi and bye.

Medium weight with dry tannins. This needs plenty of air, be patient with it. After a couple of hours the initial disjointedness will disappear. Post settling in period this shows all the Merlot attributes that you love to see, with very little of the Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics that you do often see. Black fruits, coffee, and just a little more oak for good measure. A very nice Merlot, drink ‘em if you got ‘em.

I thought it was on its last legs. Casey liked it a lot more.
