El Dorado Gamay Noir
In the beginning, touch of wet dirt, minerality, bramble on the nose that quickly evolved to wild strawberries, banana, raspberries, iron. Strawberry coulis, ripe cherries, floral mouth with lots of acid, well balanced alcohol (13%), and low tannins making this the most gulpable, delicious, fresh, elegant, and inspiring wine in a while. Thank you!!! @Rajat Parr @Cured - Will And Coral Frischkorn

Hands down the best Gamay I have ever tasted from outside Beaujolais. Reasonably priced, great packaging and is a 10/10 on the chug-ablility scale. It expresses the spicy side of Gamay which confirms Parr's theory on the decomposing granite and volcanic clay-loam soil that this and Brouilly both grow in. Good edge and extortion here, so don't worry about the carbonic maceration.

Aug 31st, 2016Doesn't have the clarity or lithe quality of a good Brouilly or Chenas, but more of the richer yet balanced style of a Morgon or Moulin-a-Vent. Really liked it a lot. Had wanted to try this wine for some time and was only slightly underwhelmed.

Aug 13th, 2016Fresh, perfumed, and pure. I enjoy that it really offers similarities to great Cru Beaujolais at a competitive price yet still expressive of CA terroir. Mineral notes moving away from crushed rock and into graphite and volcanic notes. A touch less herbaceous than its French counterparts too. Still lots of high toned berries, flowers, and pepper character.

Sep 18th, 2019Nice, but didn’t seem as fresh as the last bottle about 8 months ago. Medium weight, savory Raspberry note.
