Nom. A delightful Portuguese Douro for Steak Night (aka any night I feel like grillin'). Tasty dark fruit with a hint of brightness and solid but not overpowering tannins. May get even better as it opens; it's got that slight nip about that hollers, "Dang it Matt! Let me breathe, gol dern it!"
Why it sounds like a grizzled 1890's prospector, I've no idea.

Aug 11th, 2017Great value Portuguese wine! Great with grilled flank steak. blackberry, blueberry, and a touch of smoke. Full body and the tannins soften after 30 or so min.
