#50 in the top 100 Wine Spectator list for 2017. These guys always over perform, especially for the price. 100% Touriga Nacional, which is one of the main varietals used to make port. $20, not complex, but very well put together. Dark plum and raspberry fruit, dried dates, nutmeg, clove, vanilla, and silk smooth tannins.

Great dry red wine from a region known for its dessert wine. Firm tannins with ripe dark fruits; characteristic of wine from hotter region. It has quite a lot of heat and spice. It has subtle earthy, leathery, and smoky notes behind all of those fruits and spices. It's quite ready to drink in 2016 but I'd wait another year or two. It's a great wine for the price.

Give this plenty of air to open up, and even then I think it's built for the long haul. Immediate gratification this is not.

This wine is pleasant but does have an edge. Flavors of licorice and spice, not much berry, sufficient layers.

Rich caramel nose, full of cherry and blackberry. Catching a lot of heat off this bottle. Velvety tannins round off a full bodied wine of blackberry and some subtle spices.

Dense and fairly rich. Good structure and texture. Seems like it should age well. I am not knowledgable about Portugese wines, but am interested in learning more.

A very California wine with a lot of acidity and alcohol present that is slightly overwhelming the other tastes. But a solid wine.
