Tasting notes from the Fort Worth Food & Wine Festival...
This, along with the Trefethen Dragon's Tooth, were the winners of the night for me. Dark fruits but in no way overbearing. Lengthy and enjoyable finish.

Round Pond Estate I have to say, for what you pay it's a great investment. Had this in a restaurant so I didn't get to decant much at all, but my analysis is as follows:
Great bouquet of sweet tobacco, anise, nutmeg/brown baking spices, and cedar. The pallet was very flavorful, with ripe cherries and black currant, vanilla bean, cracked pepper, and a sweet fine grained tannin, ending in a lingering, but slightly hot finish, flaring the nostrils with ethanol. Paired wonderfully with a nice flat iron steak!
