Out of the bottle: bold red and black fruit, spice, black pepper and tannins. After some air, it becomes more mellow and a touch more fruit-foward. A little more age would work wonders, but still, very good.

Very, very dry. Full bodied, nice red fruits. Dan really liked it, Katy was more so-so. Paired very well with a nice medium rare steak-more subtle flavours snc more complexity.

Very nice southern Rhone. Bit hot at 15%, but honestly manages to stay together regardless. Nice fine finish with good earth, lots of dark fruit, and acid to keep it fresh. Excellent pairing with a braised lamb shank. Had at Les Papilles in Paris.
