Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Light and boozy. That seems contradictory but this wine lacks fruit flavor, making it light but at 15.5%, it’s pretty stout for a cab. Not bad, but there are far better Alexander valley cabs out there.

Alexander Valley is not the first place I go for Cabernet Sauvignon but this isn’t bad. Indicative of the lighter fruitier style of Alexander Valley, this is well made and complex, but simply missing the wow factor. Raspberry and dark cherry fruit, mid palate of baking spice and vanilla, oak driven finish. Good for $25.

Bold. Woody & metallic. A wine that needs to breath a bit before enjoying.

Dark cherries, ripe blackberries, black plums, cloves, sage, thyme, vanilla and cocoa. Smooth. Quintessential California cabernet.

Red and black but mostly red...drank like a Pinot in taste but had the body, smooth tannin and richness of Cabernet. Almost straight down the middle Cab, super drinkable, not overly viscous or extracted..lil hot

Great nose. Very Alexander Valley. Excellent value.

Vanilla, chocolate, cloves, herbs, black fruit. Full body, medium tannins, and a solid presence of oak. Overall a spicy and interesting example of cabernet.

Solid tannins with jammy fruit, pleasant overall package (2015)

2013 vintage. Deep purple in color. Spicy with a hint of cocoa. Nice wine for after dinner.

Very good, little bite.
