The 2019 Schioppettino is remarkably pretty and floral, with violets and roses complementing its wild red berries and hints of smoke. This is soft-textured and lifted in feel, yet also packed full of fleshy raspberry fruit, as exotic spices build within. It leaves a tinge of sour citrus while finishing lightly structured and with a staining like liquid lavender. Lovers of Schioppettino will fall head over heels for the 2019. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

Clean, medium intense but concentrated aromas with a good spicy and savory complexity. Tart at first, but gets more round wirh some air. Red cherries and plums, crushed pepper, dried spice (thyme), bacon, and a pronounced mineral characters of warm stones.
Dry palate with a high acidity, medium well balanced alcohol and medium + tannins with a firm texture that is well encapsuled by a high intense fruit profile with complexity from an earthy and spicy base note. The mid palate shows a good fatigue as the fruit levels up and grasp around the fresh acidity and stony center core through a slong finish .
Brilliant!

Wonderful brunch wine! Paired well with all of our brunch items. Wonderful bouquet, rich with ripe fruit. Smooth from start to finish with very low tannins. Loved it!!

Mineral nose with bright cherries. Light body, moderate acids, very good food wine.

Really interesting and good. Almost a California or French nose, but still and Italian mouthfeel and sentiment.

Medium-bodied and bumping. Schiopettino cherry-popped, a combination of words never written in English until today.

Schioppettino means shotgun in italian. It's because the grapes have a tendency to explode. Seemingly light on the first sip, the black pepper perfume explodes on the nose and palate, almost rose-y in its attack.
