Monthly wine group meet up. This month's theme was non-typical reds from Napa. Wines were tasted blind. Always a great time. 👌
2nd bottle from Bill and it surprised me. Rombauer's zins are typically just an overload of everything...too much oak, too much fruit. But, as Bill and I discussed, the 2011 zin may be perfect for them as it wasn't the best year so everything seems more restrained. Really nice aromatics on this that scream zin, and the finish is lengthy in blue and black fruits, coconut, and plums. Thanks, @Bill Makens !
