Very much like a heavy Merlot. Unlike the very heavy body we enjoy from an old vine Zinfandel, this was lighter in richness, but full of taste. It had the proper spicy, peppery quality with a very smooth finish. Well worth the $23.00. It was opened during our romantic dinner at our home with 2 other couples.
