Only got a sip of this one - it disappeared rather quickly. It has become a cult wine in Australia and priced accordingly. Made from grapes sourced from old dry grown vineyards aged from 60 to 140 years old. It is always lush silky and moreish. Fruit and nut milk chocolate. Seamless. Hard not to like it.

I received a bottle of Rockford as a 40th birthday gift, a wine I wasn’t familiar with at the time. After five years of aging, I opened it in the company of good friends – and what an experience! A rich and well-balanced wine, with intense flavors of berries and plums that really impressed. Wow, a wine that captivates with its harmony and depth.

Served blind. Did NOT guess Australia. A bit closed with sour cherry and charcuterie at start but opened up over time to an elegant but still pretty powerful wine. Berries and plums with slight hint of chocolate. Still very vital with plenty my of potential left. Thanks Stefan for sharing!

My first bottle of this Aussie Icon, this is pretty damm good! I love this delicate style of Syrah, lots of dark fruit and great spices in this still very young wine. I hope to stock some bottles for the next 10years but could be tough😋
