Yum! Love these Pinot noir wines from Central Otago, New Zealand. It is amazing how they are able to maintain this vibrant acidity under these hot arid conditions during the summer. What this heat does do, however, it provides this burnt earth under note to the fresh red fruit. Grippy finish with fine grained, but very present tannins. From 2016! This wine is very well crafted and disappeared way too fast!!

You know that smell when it starts to rain on hot, scorched earth...that are the subtle hints in this wine. Fruit forward Pinot with black berry, red licorice, currant and...peppered expresso. Would develop further but we were too eager to try ...or ... perhaps getting worried about how we would carry all this wine back to the US 😳 so, why not start drinking it πŸ˜„ πŸ‘
