The 2022 Chardonnay (Santa Lucia Highlands) boasts terrific weight and concentration. Viscous and opulent, it possesses a lovely inner sweetness. Yellow apple, golden mango and hazelnut notes are neatly delineated and clear as day. The 2022 delivers a touch of oak spice on the long, tender, driven finish. It’s a big wine—I would prefer just a hair more energy, but it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser for lovers of large-scale Chardonnay. (Billy Norris, Vinous, August 2024)

Delicious new offering from Roar! Opened up after 30 minutes. Rich and creamy with just a kiss of oak. Very limited. CB

Have to cry here! Last Roar Chard in my cellar. Unfined and unfiltered this blockbuster is Awesome. If you get this, remember that there is a lot of tartrate crystals at bottom of bottle... This I think makes it More Incredible! A 98+ in my book! Also a Rare WOW

Going with a slightly lower score because this reminded me more of a standard Napa Chard. Not to say a Napa Chard is bad I was just expecting a different profile. Decent amount of butter/cream in the mouth feel and flavor with some citrus hints.

One I made. Hoping to be patient with the rest. This had depth and meat while also having a delicate quality. One from Thanksgiving so details are weak.

Our last appellation blend chard from the 14 vtg I worked. Still hv a few sgl vnyrd. This one was a great surprise with its balance and even a delicate, sexiness I didn't recall from prior btls. Might hv actually drank a btl of wine in its peak. Drank this the night we found 203F had moved on.
