Riddoch Wines hail from Coonawarra in South Australia. Visionary pioneer John Riddoch was the founder of the Coonawarra fruit colony in 1891. The wines are crafted by winemaker Neil Doddridge. This 2015 Merlot retails for about $20 at Dan Murphy's and BWS.
It's a very dark, virtually opaque garnet 🍷colour on the eye with alcohol induced aromatics of spicy, oaky plums. That plumminess rolls through onto the palate accompanied by grainy tannins and an almost dark chocolate 🍫 covered cherry 🍒 finish.
