Premier Amador County Old Vine Zinfandel

Big Amador County fan so was happy to have a friend bring this buy. An enjoyable drink.

Smokey oaky cab nose upon opening with mouthfeel of a velvety Zinfandel. Later opens up to blackberry fruit-forward yumminess. Just takes ten minutes.

Fresh sugared strawberries with good body. Not super interesting but pleasant for Zinatics.

Way too much fruit and not enough of anything else for me.

Strong strawberry notes, and red fruit. Smooth, vanilla, little to no finish. Pleasant to drink

Color of dark ruby, quite clear. Nose of oaky barrel, sweet plums, cedar wood, peach, strawberries, and anise. Sweet and pleasant nose. Taste of bright acidity and sweetness, spice like oregano, low tannins, cherries, bbq hickory note, and a bit of zest. A sweet bomb indeed. Aftertaste of peach, spice, grapefruit zest, lingering sweetness, and herb notes. Very well made. A bit too sweet for me, but an awesome wine indeed.

2011 vintage. Rich, sweet, and juicy.

Great OV Zin but not what you would expect. This is far less pepper/oak and significantly more fruit and mocha while maintaining a "bold" status.

Fruit forward. Well balanced. Drank for dinner with a great thin crust sausage and green pepper pizza. Friends loved it.
