This past weeks Baseline Wine and spirits pick of the week. Such complexity results in pure delight. By far the oldest vintage white I've ever been able to sample. 25% Sylvaner 25% Gewürztraminer 24% Pinot blanc 16% Riesling 10% Pinot Gris. That's quite a blend, but each obviously pulls it's own weight. Teamwork makes the dream work. A golden hue. Pear and honey on the nose. Apple and the above on the palate. Crisp and dry. Enjoyable acidity. I think it would pair really well with crab salad or even a simple egg salad sandwich.
