WNH event number 3...new world Pinot. Such a treat to experience the many different variations of Pinot!

A surprise of the night for me. This was really enjoyable. A lot of fruit (more black than red), but not extracted or a fruit bomb. Very flavorful with a unique mint note in the nose. Not sure of Relic’s house style, but even as a ‘15, I thought this was drinking well and I’d have no problem drinking these young as the acidity isn’t too sharp/overbearing at this stage. Thanks for the intro here,
@Carl Fischer .

Really nice Pinot. Red fruit all over. Great mouth feel but it probably needs to be drank soon if you still have some.

Very tasty extreme Sonoma Coast Pinot from Mike Hirby. Still tastes bold against Oregon and Burgundy

Opened the 2010 Relic Pinot Noir for my birthday. It was 1 of 4 wines opened. This wine we paired with a star Anise infused pork belly. O. M. G. This was the perfect pairing. The dark cherry fruit with chocolate overtones complimented by the subtle oak…WOW! I was a little worried since it was laid down for 15 years, but it was delightful.

Magnum. Short decant. Skews more toward Cab than a fruit bomb Pinot. Earthy with stewed strawberries and raspberries. Sweet components present along with some bitterness. Not much of a finish and medium minus depth.

Bright cherries plumb and citrus and herbs. Crisp almost sparkling Pinot. One of my favorites.

Another favorite from our friends at 750 Wines! They know all the great small production vineyards and know how to pair them with your individual tastes. This one was a little bolder than most delicate Pinot Noirs... which is exactly what I asked for. Goes well with most any entree because of its wide range of tastes...ripe raspberries without the acidity, cherry cola. Last bottle, so better make a call...
