For this price, I could be drinking a Kontos Les Collines Syrah. No disrespect to what Chuck is doing here, but there are better wines for the price. Having said that...this wine is a precise representation to what the Chapoutier family is doing in the Rhone Valley of France. Lots of terroir showing through its rustic fruit and spices. Those spices are very subtle at the very end. I would've loved to have taken this home and had it 24 hours later. Stellar Syrah.

This might be as good as Syrah can get. Velvety, rich, elegant shit right here. Had been holding this for a while and it was worth the wait.
