Although this bottle had a rather low fill and was clearly showing signs of oxidation because of it, the magical qualities of the '71 vintage came through in mid palette and a long, complex finish that reminded me of caramel and toasty creme bruleé. One of the middle Mosel's finest vineyard sites, the Domherr is the best part of the greater Goldtröpfchen.
