Color: Muddy garnet or Oxblood. Nose: peppery with some red fruit. Palate: pepper continues with red fruit becoming more pronounced and distinctly maraschino cherry (the good, dark Italian kind), with added notes of vanilla that cut the tannins nicely. Undernotes of tobacco. Finish: pretty long with tobacco and explicitly oak flavors. Enjoyed with: smoked oysters
