Cabernet Sauvignon
20170726 Cru w22862w from w25612w
Drunk: 201709
CellarTracker: 93pt-community
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs.Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of vanilla oak and cassis. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol, high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of vanilla oak, blackcurrant, dark plums, milk chocolate, cassis, licorice, almond, cinnamon spice, and minty eucalyptus. Long finish.Very good quality Aussie Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale. Oak still dominant at this stage and will need at least another 3-4 years to integrate. Good stuff that can only get better.
(2006)
Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Perfumed nose delivering aroma of a Classic ripe Cabernet. Violet top note followed by blackcurrant and cassis. The palate flavour profile is generous, with flavours of blackcurrant and spice evident. Fine slightly chalky tannins, however the palate drops off a little at the end. Aftertaste of spice and blackcurrant.
(2014 by winery)
Only released after years of maturing, this has a deep red centre with an evolved tawny edge.
Its aromas draw you in with scented vanilla and marshmallow hints highlighting the gorgeously well-ripened red and black berry flavours.
Silky, evolved, with raspberry top notes and suggestions of wood, leather and blackcurrant pastilles. Showing a powerful Barossa-style finish with a lovely richness of fruit.
Food PairingOpen a bottle alongside cheese – of the mature Cheddar-style – sirloin steak, or leg of lamb with a spicy marinade, deboned and chargrilled.

Deep ruby cab sauv with super high acidity, medium (+) tannins but with less on the finish. I detected blackcurrant and black cherry plus some smoke and cedar.
