A really great choice for an accessible Okanagan red. The kind of wine that could win at a blind tasting party. Red and black fruit but also with the roughness of a meaty steak on the nose. Quite a contrast on the palete where smooth roundness pervades. Not a lot of tannin here. Made for the here and now. Naramata Original.

Incorrectly identified by Delectable as a Cabernet Merlot this is a full on Merlot. Punching well above its price point, I had to reflect upon this Merlot for sometime before I could admit that this smooth Canadian is really that good. From its opening bouquet of black berried fruit, black pepper, smoke and yes tobacco leaf this is a sensory delight. Moderate in weight and well balanced with layered smooth long legs highlighting tastes of black cherry, spices and currents. Red Rooster Winery located on BC’s famed Naramata Bench is proof positive that Canadian wines have come of age. $18.00 CAD 14.0% alc./vol Cheers 🍷🇨🇦

Nice example of a Cab Merlot, deep color, and dark berry flavours.

Has a nice fruity aroma that blend in to the oak! When it first hits your palette, it comes across as quite sweet! Then, very spicy, with hints of berries! A bit of a tobacco aftertaste!! Different, but not bad!!
