This tasted very structured, almost tight. The tannins were grippy with high Acidity. On the nose, the wine definitely exhaled its time in rye whiskey barrels. Cassis and Strawberry candy with spicy oak, vanilla, and cigar. The taste was sour candy, black pepper, hint of chili peppers. The taste was very sour, but the zestiness of pepper and tannins told me that it probably would have done great with steak. I think decanting or even a little time on the shelf would make this one better though. No where on the bottle indicated a vintage.
