A Gorgeous 6 years old Shiraz from Washington state.

Dark ruby with a dark brick/orange rim.

Aromatic nose with blackberries, blueberries, plums, green pepper, oak, chocolate, wild flowers, licorice and peppercorn.

Medium to full bodied and smooth on the palate.

Dry and Fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cheries, wood, dark chocolate, tobacco, coffee, smoke, spices and black pepper.

Long finish with soft round tannins.

This is an inexpensive wine that I kept for a few years to see how it ages. Had the 2007 a few months ago, and this one was better. Probably at its peak right now.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

So Shiraz is not a thing I gravitate toward, nor is Washington State branded wine, but this one is a winner for $12. Firm mouthfeel, not too acidic, nice mellow tannins...dry and complex (for the price). Will buy again.
