Pop & pour. One of the first wines from Ram's Gate that I found enjoyable. Lanolin and carnations on the nose. Deep hue of purple in the glass. What is so striking is the sweet tannins that are on the attack near the front of the palate. Mid palate shows hint of smoke, crushed-nearly mulled blackberries and cassis. Soft supple finish showing nice acid. Easy approachable wine.

Needs a good decanting. You will be rewarded in letting this wine sit and come into itself. Plenty of life to this North Coast Syrah. Parmalee Hill is normally my go-to vineyard from Ram's Gate for Syrah but this was a rewarding new study for local Syrah. Great concentration and finesse shows through when given due patience.

A little…waxy? Coats the tongue without being tannic. Bit of green persimmon and buttery fruit. It’s an interesting wine.

Fatty & floral. Deep and rich. A bit of dark fruit, smoke and earth. Complex and enjoyable.

Love this vineyard! Such a cool atmosphere. The Syrah has a spicy blend, smooth to drink, overall great!

Dec 17th, 2016You won't get a lot of fruit in this wine. It's very bread'y with some vanilla and cinnamon notes. This thing gets way better after you let it breathe. It's a bit sharp on the palette and you can taste the alcohol IF you drink it without letting it sit for a bit. Mellows out after 15 min and it becomes much more pleasant to drink.
