Washington Cabernet Sauvignon

Lovely fleshy notes on the palate with ultra silky yet persistent tannins. A little cold from the cellar. Beautiful texture - easy to love. I can see why Robert Parker gave this 100 points. Not overly Cabernet in a varietal sense but a rich, textured delicious wine still with a latent core giving at least another 5 years. Although I notice Harvey Steiman had a short drinking window through to only 2017. I bought this in the USA years ago when my son was at College - never seen it for sale in Australia.

Not as good as the 07. Lost a lot of tannin, but seemed to open up more as dinner went on. Good long finish

Cheryl, black fruit. Opened up as the night went on. Lost a lot of the graphite, pencil lead that I classically associate with Quilceda.

Excellence

2005 vintage. After a two hour decant and a few more hours back in the bottle, this wine started to sing. Great purity of Cabernet of fruit with great structure and finish.
