Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

Could not get a good angle on this Pride Mountain 2011 cabernet sauvignon, but here you go.

Had this with dinner with friends and even though there were 3 different cuts of steak none of us thought this wine elevated anything. It's a good cab, but it just doesn't cross that mark to greatness. The nose is classic green bell pepper and black tea and pepper, with the palate showing fairly integrated tannins. It's just... all underwhelming.

Well made and refined. More elegant that most with firm tannins. Nice structure for Cali. $75

Pretty straightforward and not terribly complex.

Rich, complex Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon with dark cherry and mildly astringent finish, served with tenderloin roast for Christmas Eve (Urban Grape)

Bit flat and uneventful.

More holiday fun

This wine is opening up quite nicely. I think it still has a few years left in it. Lots of dark fruit on this one. Hint of pepper on the back end. Gets better the longer it sits out. Nice and smooth for the vintage though. Big fan.
