Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel

This Zinfandel from Predator makes me feel like I’m on a stroll through Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, stalked by flavors of tobacco, jam, cherry, spice, and everything nice. Umpa Lumpa’s chanting songs of intoxication and merriment lull me into bliss. This Zinfandel is the golden ticket.

Very light body for a Zin—thin with more red color than I expect from a zin. VERY smoky/peppery. Very alcoholic tasting. Nothing I expect from a zin. I’m not going to finish it.

Dark chocolate, dark berries, espresso coffee.
Fantastic wine

Dry, good unaerated, smoke ‘n oak, medium-bodied, decent tannins and a bit of fruit. Likely good for mulling.

Consistently good

Very good - berry and cedar - finishes dry.

Pretty light for a Zin. Lots of spicy, hint of smoke.

A little sweet for my tastes and bolder than I was expecting, but very smooth, drinkable
