I wept. Jammy strawberry nose with a little black pepper at the bottom. Beautiful supple mouthfeel. Lovely cedar quality I have not experienced before, incredibly smooth tannins, but still bright.

Really gorgeous 2001 vintage. All elements fully integrated. Cherry and red currant fruit, allspice, medium tannins, tobacco. Paired with grilled pork, Romano cheese, and parsely sausage.

Fully developed, this was showing dried mint, sour cherries, leather, spice, green tea, and a silky smooth texture and lightness that was neat to see from Carmignano. I personally like most of the big and bold versions but appreciate the variety.
