2015 is showing great finesse and purity, rendered in an airy and lifted style. Very limpid, ruby to garnet color with a feeling of weightlessness in the glass. The nose is very generous, showing sour cherry and crushed strawberries with hints of rhubarb, cinnamon, rose petal and tobacco. The mid palate shows increasing density with air, leaving somewhat resinous impressions of minerals, licorice and mint. Piercing acidity, moderately firm tannic grip and slightly grainy on the finish. Lovely, precise and balanced.

June 18, 2018. Don’s birthday. This was his favorite of the 3 wines we tasted at Allegrini Villa della Torre tasting room. This is from their Tuscan vineyard. 100% Sangiovese. Nicely balanced. Earthy. Medium bodied. Nice
