To me a nice styled Brunello, a touch light and easy going. Might lack the depth of many some but this is just right. Not a familiar producer/never see this in the US market that much. Second bottle purchased. Nice classic markers for Brunello (Riserva) such as dried cherry, leather, licorice root, forest undergrowth, some really appealing sweet brown spices and a cooling menthol note. Alc pokes out a touch and it lacks the tannic backbone I would expect, however it was awfully nice to crack open a bottle of ‘07 Brunello Riserva on a Wed night without worrying about breaking the bank. Day 2: much more savory meat, dried red fruits, mushroom coming out.
