I have to admit I've drank a number of Durif's this year, I just can't get enough of it! Durif is also widely planted in Israel & the USA where it's commonly called 'Petite Sirah'.

Opaque deep dark inky purple-red on the eye. On the nose it has hints of blueberries, black pepper spice and plums. On the palate it's full bodied, with firm texture and lip-licking tannins. Flavours of black currants, cherries, plums and a hint of wood smoked jerky comes through. A wonderful big wine that I'll definitely drink again.

I picked this up from the cellar door a year or so ago for about $28. All opinions are based on my own tastebuds.
