Nice bubbles that don’t quit on the smallish side. Creamy and very generous. A pretty classic nose upon opening with lemon curd, apricot, and chamomile. A little butter, a little toast. When that chalky minerality comes to the forefront, this baby really starts sailing.
100% Grand Cru Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Beautiful terroir and beautiful grapes. At least 8 years on lees with a dosage of 3 g/l. Racy, but not searing, acidity. Immaculate structure and balance, this is all very stately and poised. Very very professional but with soul.
So much finesse and precision in the mouth. Quite saline and chalky with much citrus fruit. Zippy and bright. Medium to long finish. A superb bottle at this age and shining brightly.
